Leveraging AI Technlogies in Engineering Practices
Please Join Us for the ECES Technical Meeting on November 3, 2025, 6-8pm to network and learn about Leveraging AI Technlogies in Engineering Practices, presented by Dr. Qipei Mei, Assistant Professor from University of Alberta. This presentation provides a brief introduction to AI, its history, and how it has been and will continue to transform various engineering disciplines, with the construction industry as an example. Drawing from the presenter’s research experience, the presentation explores how AI can enhance the precision and efficiency of infrastructure design, supporting better decisions, fostering innovation, and reducing both time and costs. It also examines robotic systems that can improve construction and manufacturing processes. Finally, it discusses how AI-enabled assessment can serve as an early warning system for existing infrastructure, helping identify issues before they become critical, extending asset lifespans, improving safety, and reducing maintenance costs.
Cost: $10 for members and students; $20 for non-members. Please pay cash at the door.
Light refreshments will be provided.
